Preproduction Consulting

No man is an island* and no production company has everything it needs. There's that scene that needs an extra HMI—or perhaps you need to get a fight choreographer to make sure that bar brawl looks good yet keeps the actors safe. Those are examples of production cinema support.

Team J specializes in pre-production support, specifically, casting and logistics for fellow independent productions. Stonehenge, as you may have noticed, is an exercise in casting and logistics—as well as our current focus in aiding the indie community.

Bjorn Munson, Team J's founder and current Team Lead, has worked as a project manager in one form or another for over 14 years. In that time, he's been in the corporate and the artistic world, working on projects that involve video, web, theater, and software development. While there's no one solution to every project, he's come to believe all the more in the importance of planning and pre-production. "After all," he notes "Even improvisers train and practice to improvise better."

Team J wants to help other filmmakers discover how good pre-production can free you up to improvise more during production—avoiding pitfalls that could otherwise end your project in an unpleasant mess. Besides our Resources section, we offer Stonehenge twice a year, an invaluable tool to start the ball rolling on casting. Seasoned directors in theater and film will tell you that good casting saves many a headache during production.

Team J is still growing and so are the services we offer. Need a third party to help break down your script into a shooting schedule that puts actor X at location Y? Want assistance in planning and executing a callback casting session for actors? It's all possible—as our production schedule permits, of course. If you have a project you want Team J to work on, send us a note to consult@teamjabberwocky.com.

(*This is, of course, unless the man in question is named 'Island'—which we suppose is possible.)
